Balance, Optical Center and Rule of Thirds,
Direction, Contrast, Consistency

Well let's talk about Balance. There are three basic types of symmetrie

a) symmetrical
b) asymmetrical
c) radial

Results of assignments 1:

1. Radial Symmetrie with horizontal, vertical and slanting axes
2. Symmetrical vertical and horizontal axes
3. Asymmetrical - direction from bottom to right top
4. Symmetrical mirrored, flipped
5. Asymmetrical at the first glance - direction from the left to right
if you draw a horizontal line the upper and above part is symmetrical
lol, sorry I am missing the right words just now for this!

Assignment 2:

Create a canvas 300 x 450 px with white background. Use shapes, colors, lines, tpye elements anything else for to show contrast. Create any type of design by showing good contrast.

Now I first didn't know what to do, then saw a book in my bookshelf. I had the idea of creating a book cover from this title. I had a nice picture from this sitting lady and as she looked like dreaming I thought maybe I can use it for my design.

I feathered the picture in PSP. Then picked the color of the bottom of the picture for to get the same color into the text title. The contrast was done by the black lines around. I think another contrast was created by the softness of the picture and the hard lines around the title. Another contrast was set by the text style of the title and the one of the name and sort of book. Maybe there is not enough contrast but I didn't want to overdo as it was looking clean and balanced to me.
But I am always still unsure if it is welldone or if there are better ways to correct my ideas. Well this is the reason why I am in this class, isn't it?
