Week 1.Design
Fundamentals - a brief look at traditional design principles and how
they apply Assignment 2: During this course we should design a mock site around a personal or business interest, or even something just wacky and fun. This week we should choose a topic, do a little research into sites that cover a similar topic, boomark a few that we find appealing and jot down a few notes about who we feel our target audience would be. Just notes which comes into mind.We should create a very simple page, just using placeholder text. but we also can do something else, what we will like to do for now and should post some notes about why we made these choices for the design. Well as want to rebuild my website I started to make an index site for one part of the website, talking about my LVS classes. At the moment not much is on my server anymore. Just what I do now and upload, but I have all my stuff saved on my computer. So I want to add step by step again my already taken classes. I like the blue color and made a sideborder background picture. I am not content at the moment with the navigation buttons, so I think I will redo this again the next time. Also I am thinking about something like a logo, but my brain seems to be empty right now lol. My interests are wide and I started with lake applets. Later I joined html newsgroups and worked on stationeries as also did a lot of scriptwork just for fun. There are some I like to show so I want one section about this on my website. This will be another part, beside my LVS classes. The next part is dedicated to teachers, as I have to work with them to use some programs like Frontpage, Publisher, Powerpoint, Word. I set up German instructions for them when we worked on this during the schoolyear. Now I have zipped the instructions so that others can download them too. I want this section password protected, but don't know right now how to do this. I am not sure, if all my sections should have the same color scheme, or if I should change the color scheme for every section. Also I am not sure about the navigation bar or if I should use a javascript menue maybe. Also at the moment I am not content with the colors of the links (link, active link, visited link...)... I see that I have not the knowledge about html like I should have, as I cannot set up right all what I have in mind. I once tried to work with layers in Dreamweaver, but they didnt look right on a lower resolution, so went back to tables again. I don't know much about Browser compatibility and I think this is very hard for me to understand all the English text on the different links we should take a look. Also I am always getting tired by reading lol. Well that's all at the moment. I hope during this course I will see clearer. |
